ENGINE REMAP - WHO DOES THE BEST REMAP (133)

I want get my engine remapped and I would like to know who the best remapper out there is.

I live in the south in Portsmouth so anyone further then London will not be feesable.

I havent done too much research however here is where I am at right now.

Either K-tec or FR&RTuning.

FR&RTuning for their remap claim:

COST - £264
Stock Power: 133BHP - AFTER POWER TUNING: +12BHP
Stock Torque: 160(NM) - AFTER POWER TUNING: +15(NM)

K-tec for their remap claim:

COST - £300
We have been able add 11bhp and 9lbs/ft of torque

Please can you guys let me know who is the best and some figures to back it up are always nice. Remember no further then London as I live in portsmouth.


NOTE - I have a K-TEC Exhaust Cat Back system and a BMC Air Filter.
 
Not much help to you and I can here a can of worms opening but.....

you wont see +12BHP from a remap alone. being really fussy stock power is 131bhp (133ps), not all cars reach that, as with anything everyone is different.

K-tec have been know to have a rolling road that can give high figures according to some on clio197.net, no experience of them myself.
 
Never heard of FR&RTuning and personally wouldnt use Ktec.

Maybe look at another company like Mulgari or RS tuning but of course depends on where your located.
 
Either of those companies are reputable in the RS scene tbh. You won't go wrong with either.

You also won't see those gains. More like 5 or 6 bhp.

Paul at RS Tunning managed to get an extra 15+hp and 30FtLb from mine* :cool:






*OK, that was was at 2000rpm. Peak power went from 126.8 up to 132.4

Don't you have an exhaust though and custom air box setup?

Have you had a word with Mike @ RenTech?
If they cant remap it themselves I'm sure theyd recommend someone not far away.

Another thumbs up for Paul @ RS Tuning. Leeds is a long way though. :(

They do have a dealer in the south who carry out remapping with their maps though:

What is it about "that" industrial area of Kimbolton????

Those of you who have been on the Renault scene a few years;
Andy @ GDI (Grey Devil Industries) - Did my cambelt + full service on my 172 ((now works with K-TEC I believe))
BenR @ Angelworks - Did the brakes/ sparkplugs/ gaskets on my 172
They were literally across the road from each other.

TDF are also based at Kimbolton.

I know GDI/Angelworks were not connected in any way, but dont really know much about TDF, other than their pretty decent rep on here + Cliosport.

Ive heard bad story about GDI and Angelwork.

Any idea if they have a rolling road there? Theyre like a stone throw away from me and would save the drive to k-tec

No complaints of either from me. Angelworks opened early one saturday morning for me, and i travelled down from Notts.

GDI did a good job, returned my car to me running better than ever.

I heard the bad stories, i think it was more to do with time taken finishing peoples "projects" off slowly. Then things still being wrong.

Both seemed to go from hero to zero unfortunately.
