Hi, so this is my car a 1986 Volvo 340 DL 1.4.
The engine fitted from factory, the 'Volvo B14.4E' is a Renault C3J. 8v pushrod 1.4l fuelled by a Weber 32DIR and ignition from a Renix vac advance 'computer'. The transmission is a rear mounted M47RII volvo 5-speed coupled to a 3.64:1 Welded Diff. Originally the car would have been a 4-speed 3.82:1. The propshaft is a rubber and aluminium piece of rubbish but needs to be light as it can because it's technically part of the clutch input shaft. You really can feel it on the syncros.
The car's got 3" lowering blocks on the de-dion axle (Leaf springs!!!) and the front springs were chopped 3" lowering springs when i got it. I've fitted 2" lowering springs, gas front shocks, poly ARB droplinks and have 2" blocks, rear shocksand poly leaf spring bushes to go on the back and new bottom balljoints and extra lock track rod ends for the front.
The main thing I have planned is the Renault K4M engine. Probably puling it from a Scenic II.
It should bolt up to my bellhousing and fingers crossed front engine mounts.
I'll use the smallest K4M pressure plate (200mm) and an oversize 340 disk (190-200mm)
I want to use stock K4M management, even if it means pulling in the Renault Body control (UCH), protection and switching module, key card and Scenic Digidash
Exhaust manifold i'll have to custom make, probably the same with inlet as standard it would place the throttle at my bulkhead. Noticed a K4J throttle points backwards in a megane, maybe that might fit?
I'm still researching before i commit and spend money pulling an engine. Struggling to find the info i need on how the UCH and ECU communicate, pinouts, wiring diagrams, but i'm sure I'll find them eventually.
I'll try keep this updated with progress and hopefully once i get into upgrading the engine and remapping it could be of some benefit to twingo 133 owners
If anyone knows a way of making the ECU standalone, that would be insanely useful, or how easy it is to divorce modules from the system, ABS, Climate ctrl, Airbags, EPAS (im going to be using a corsa system) etc. An ECU pinout from a Scenic II? I dont expect to be given answers and am prepared to search myself but hey what's the harm in asking
Hopefully this project might be some interest to some of you
Thanks for looking
Matt
