Installing a sub? HELP!

Want to keep the existing head unit and install a sub in the boot.

Can anyone give me an idiots guide to it?!

if your head unit has pre amp output connections (RCA plugs) then you could easily go for a normal amp.

Without pre amp connections, you are limitted to high level (amplified) speaker outputs to feed the new amp... Some amps can take high level, but others can not
