Air Filter Cleaning

So I'm coming round to about a year with a BMC panel filter installed on the twingo so think it's about time to give it a good clean out.

I'm going to order there cleaning kit and oil soon but before I do is there any alternative ways to clean it ?

brake cleaner! washing up liquid, a basin and a hair dryer lol. that's your two options

you still need to oil it. Otherwise you have no working filter
