Will RS monitor work if I change head unit?

Will the RS monitor still work if I change head unit? Has anybody on here upgraded their standard stereo and still been able to use the RS monitor? I'm worried because of course It uses the stereo stalk controls behind the steering wheel to navigate the menus.

I'm not lazy and have searched the forum but can't see the answer to this anywhere.

Just disconnect head unit and see it for yourself

Yep it does still work off the steering wheel stereo stalk. However when the car is started the display constantly displays the 'Renault Sport' logo instead of a clock now. This isn't a problem as the RSM displays a clock and outdoor temp on the water and oil temp screen, so I've got in the habit of putting it on this.

Does the blutooth still work with it ?? or does loosing the head unit mean you loose the phone ??
