1800 isn't too bad for a young driver tbh, even without an accident my first car cost 1200 to insure... That was only a 1.2 11 year old clio.

Doesn't help that its a 1.4 vw tho, not sure why but quotes for vw's always seem to be slightly more for me (looked into many golfs )
 
No real pattern, just changed cars when I've got bored or a desire for a particular one or as a stop gap.

very annoying! It was almost a pound per cc of the cars engine it seemed. When I added a spoiler to the car (a renault one) the company I was with said I couldnt modify the car at all on my policy.... rubbish.
