i'm just wondering if there is anywhere around central scotland that you guys know does dashboard flocking and roughly how much it would cost? i am however willing to travel within reason as far as the borders and up towards the perth dundee area

Post it. Thomas and vine in Watford.

I suggest you buy some lint rollers, perfect for keeping it clean. Rip one off and dab it for the part in front of the Rev counter (far simpler than sticky roll around your hand imo)

thanks maggi, do you know how much roughly i'd be expecting to pay for the dashboard? i toyed with the idea of flocking all of the interior door pillar pannels etc whilst i was there but i began to imagine it looking like austin powers trousers

i'm considering flocking the entire dash, alongside all the papery grey plastic trims throughout the car. not too sure on how that would look, cost isn't the issue though! just want the grey gone haha

Just buy some black interior door cards from a newer twingo that's breaking.

got a company locally who flock furniture and do a lot of upholstry kind of like a father son version of thomas and vine, i'm going to see them on saturday about doing the panels. if the price is right i might get the subaru seats reupholstered, they certainly need a make over

Been a while, but did you find out about flocking? I'm looking into it now, may do it myself with a cheap DIY kit and see what it's like

For the cost I can't see why you would. Get it done properly, it takes a lot of skill to get it even, prep to get it to stick and specialist materials to work. For the cost of those parts to you, it's not going to be much more to get them done.

in central scotland yes, but i've not got it done. although there are places .. i just haven't seen any examples of work etc which isn't too good. an email got sent away to the above company this morning, i'm sending a dashboard down to get flocked as well as the speedo surrounds etc. don't do it yourself, it'll turn out crap trust me :)

Okay that's two people saying to get it done properly, I think I'll follow your advice aha! I'll look at places more in the midlands I think though

If its just a rally car and you want a shine free dash, then diy with resin and a puffer bottle would do the job.

If you want an even coverage with the flock fibers standing up, it needs to be electro charged and sprayed on. Its a messy job too

i'm just going for a matte black full coverage professional job :) in honesty, it's strange that you replied to this thread as it was this morning before i left for work that i was having a browse through neils flocking thread that he had done and seen the work (well i've seen it in person and it looks fantastic quality wise) so i'm expecting a quote back over the next few days. i'll let you know the prices etc for the full dash
