Non RS-BlackTwingo-i Progress

After half my thread was lost, i didnt update anything for a while so im gonna post EVERYTHING onto this one

Got my car last october, and spent a good few month getting some decent pictures and parts for my beaut!
I searched for ages on all the cameras/memory cards phones and folders for all ther pictures i have..
So some are bad quality off my phone and some are okay.

Heres some pics of it at the Renault garage and some out and about..




Was an icy day, thought it looked kinda cool....





Really couldn't stand the abuse i got from my friends at college and work, calling it a girls car and that its my mums car
So i had to do something about it!

First i decided to get my rear windows tinted...
Cost me £110 and i've not looked back! But still they came out with the girly car comments haha :/





My friend has a Fiesta Zetec-s MK5, we love our cars too much, and like taking pictures of them trying to get some cool shots..





Here is a pic of the panel he damaged. We saw some old fiesta that was quite 'ratted out' and it looked really cool.
It's called 'sticker bombing', for obvious reasons
Instead of painting his new panel he bought a book full of stickers for £10 and went crazy, this is how it turned out..
Cheaper than a paint job eh.


Started searching for some alloys, really wanted some Twingo RS Cup ones, but didn't have that much look as i was being so impatient!
I ended up buying some Megane 17" alloys which i kinda liked actually.
They came with some awesome tyres too! £300 was a bargain i thought..
The 3 hour trip to Liecestershire from Blackpool wasn't that awesome i must say :/





Decided to fit them to my car.. And make it look like a 4x4

These are my original 14" steely bad boys


And this is a picture of them just infront of the wheel hub, as i soon found out the tyres being 205's were just a tad too big..
They fit on the back but i didnt get any pictures of that.. It did look okayish i guess though, not exactly RS's though are they

But anyway i went on to re-sell the alloys for £400, £100 profit for me, excluding the petrol costs to go and buy them

So.. I had this wad of money in my bank and i wanted to show the f*****s at work and college my car has potential to be less girly.. :twisted:

I bought myself the Rear Diffuser and RS Spoiler and OMG.. Couldnt be happier!
This was me when i got home after work i think after the stuff had arrived.



Oh and BTW.. The 'I-Music' on the side of the car was a little wobbly, so as my dad was pissing around moving the 'I-' it snapped off leaving it just saying 'Music', so i did it on purpose on the other side haha! Hopeing to take it off eventually..

Wanted it on sooo badly, but it needed to be painted and i would rather it was fitted proffessionaly.
But the diffuser on the other hand.. I could not help myself but put it on myself!
Was surprizingly easy once the bumper was off, just took concentration and time..

Here some pics of me fitting it.. Not exactly step by step, but hope it shows how simple it is




As you can see, just 12 holes, 12 bolts.. you get guides to show you where to drill, it couldn't be easier! Just got to be confident with it!

The numberplate was riveted on, so i had to drill the rivets off, and find some screws to fit myself and i think i did a good job!


I got some pictures of before and after.. I always wanted to see this before i bought it because a black diffuser on a black car? sounds like it wouldnt make a difference, but its a plasticy black, so its not shiney.. Kinda like Matte paint.
Make a huge difference to the sportyness!

Finally. The day i had been waiting for since like i joined this forum.

Oh yes. Best buy of all.
Painted genuine Renault Anthricite. I know my fog surrounds, wing mirrors and bad boy wheel trims are all silver, but
im hoping to change the fog surrounds and wing mirror covers to Anthricite too Should make it abit more unique

My car was dirty as hell, as i was waiting to fit the spoiler first before cleaning it nicely Nice and clean nowww

Later on me and my Zetec-S buddy wanted some fresh car porn.. So decided to go find some places to take some pictures
Was mostly trying to show off the spoiler in these pictures, so this is what we ended up with..








Oh and if you haven't already noticed, i am missing a wheel trim, because i thought my car was like a ferrari..
And I decided to try and drive a billions miles an hour round a big quiet bend.
Hello buckled wheel and bye bye wheel trim
So had to use my spare, which then in winter got banged into a curb due to ice So i have no spare and a crappy rear wheel!
Thought i'de be sneeky and just put the wheel trim from the other side onto the not so good looking beasty steely.
It's not buckled or warped or anything, just some scratches and a little dint.. oh well Gotta learn one way or another!

Anyway.... Zetec-S buddy kept getting in the way of my shots. I was fuming! So i decided to get some close ups




Went different places, found this car park.. And thought i'de catch some of the Blackpool Tower too!

Yes, Zetec-S buddy is taking the piss out of my smooth picture poses..
And his alloys are different on the front to the back because he hasnt got enough tyres for his new ones (the front ones)
and two of his old alloys buckled cause hes a shit driver.


Bought myself and exhaust tip only because i can't afford a K-Tec exhaust



And finaly, took some pictures today in the nice weather to finish off my first progress thread.. Got one of my sisters little fiat thing!
Oh and my misses lives over the road from where the Blackpool Football Team go training..
So theres some really nice cars outside her house! Grabbed a sneeky photo
Didn't quite get them all in though.. Had to get the fake Clio Sport in

The smere marks are just due to pre buffing of the wax i put on.



DEBADGED! Finaly, i dared get the hairdryer on my car, and sorted out the stupid 'i-music' that was on the side too..



Pictures dont really make it look as good as it does in person i dont think cause you cant get the same
angles and focus or whatever when taking a picture.. I say de-twingo'ing it and de i-music'ing it has
made a huge difference and im mega chuffed!

Got my girlfriend to help me out haha she was doing the shitty part.. Getting rid of the excess glue, i mean i dont
want to risk getting cramp in my fingers do i?.. mwuhahahaha

Just thought ide put on the pictures of my newer mods onto my progress thread.. They are posted in other places but might aswell keep them together! Got some new ones here too

To get my photos off my phone, since i left my wire at my friends, i have to upload them to facebook, go n the computer, print screen, put them onto paint, crop them, save them then upload them onto photobucket and then onto my post.. what a ball ache

First, some pics i took with my new phone about 2 months ago..



The next mod I had done was done on the exterior silver trims.. I noticed all the RS's had anthracite trims and it just looked so much better on the black cars, so i thought ide get mine done anthracite! Make the car look so much stealthier without it all being black, which im not tooo kean on

I took the foglight surrounds and mirror caps off myself.. The foglight surrounds just need a really good pulling untill you get ther first clips out, then its easy..





Waited 2 days, and vuala!!





I was in the BHS carpark in the middle of town, was sat in my car and bump. Got out, and some stupid ***** shit woman whore driver grazed all the side of my car!!!!!!
lol joke, it was tiny, but i was still fuming


It was really dark in the carpark so when she hit my i just looked and couldnt see anything and said it was fine.. she drove off and it looked like that! her car was worse off though, she couldnt drive for shit.
After half an hour t-cutting and polishing it came up almost perfect, you cant see a thing at all! im really pleased with it

Next i got myself a new tax disk holder.. Only a cheap £5 one from eBay but looks alot better than the horrid white one that came with the car..
When i pulled the white one off, it left so much glue behind. grr


Took me like half an hour to rub it all off with a wet cloth.. got a blister too.. Anyway i got my new one on, nothing special but worth £5 Not sure if i have any pictures with the old one in but im sure if you look at previous pictures you may see it..



Next, a very common mod.. Silvatec indicators.. Ive seen it many times before but im going to do it anyway..

I do have myself some 40mm Spaxx springs.. It will cost my £80 to get them fitted and i could proberbly afford it in a few weeks but im worried about my warranty! Something happens to the suspension and it could cost so much :/ i might sell them and if i have the car in another 1-3 years ill get some on it then DEFINATELY!

Oh yeah one more tiny thing..
Smoked side repeaters.. £6 eBay.. They come with new, darker orange bulbs, but i kept the originals on because they shined a little brighter through them..


I think they really accent the anthracite bits and it doesnt stand out at all now, they blend in!

Looking at that previous pic with the smoked side repeaters in.. the only thing i dislike about my car is the wheel trim colour :/ its not worth painting them at all, but i cant afford alloys at all! I almost bought some £5 spray paint from a car shop.. Then realised it really wouldnt match and i would hate myself!
Anybody got any ideas for temporary wheel matching?

Got my interior colour coding done last night!
Everytime i was in my car i could see the wingmirror caps, looking awesome in anthracite, and my interior silver bits!
It just make me think could i take them off and get the colour coded anthracite to match..
did abit of tugging and pulling and broke like 3 clips.. :/ everything still holds together perfectly and i got everything silver off!

and oh yeah, i think i pointed out in another thread about my foglight surrounds being painted, one fell off the painting table when drying and left abit of an imperfection, and said i could get it re-painted for free anytime, so i took it back at the same time




Picked them up this morning.. £25
And now after!





So pleased, everything matches now and it doesnt bug me
The n0bs seem a tad shiney though, it doesnt bother me and it might just be the light but they do show abit glossier than the rest..

Interior Colour Coding [Done]

Something shexyyy arrived in the post today




They are beautys.. Been to a few places and cant find any decent double sided foam to stick it on with..
Renault said dont do it cause someone could rob it, staples said dont do it cause if it falls off ''ill be in trouble''

So what should i use to stick them on with?
dont wanna reck my paintwork if they ever have to come off

B&Q have this 'no more nails foam pads' and its in a role.. easy to use.. strong as ****.. and look at the result!

So much brighter at night, cant really tell but they have helped me count my change for a double cheeseburger a few times! Much cleaner looking light

I have successfuly, on my own (with girlfriends help, but everyone should know how much help that would be), fitted black suede headlining!

I used plenty of PVA glue, and applied it would brushes and rollers, it was simple!
Took a while though, but so happy now!

Finished work at 4ish, went to Dunelm Mill, bought the suede £30 for 1.5mtrx 2.5mtr.. Which was so much more than needed i guess,
but they sold it in the 0.5mtr so i wanted to be sure
Finished at 11pm, hence the dark photos, glue set properly overnight and its solid as

No glue soaked through, just one small bit of glue on the suede at the back i spilt by accident dries clear though thank god

I didnt didnt get photos for a how to, or any step by step photos..
But i did get these!

This is the suede just put over the roof lining for a little bit of a see of how it would look!

Finished product! Before i folded round the corners and trimmed the excess ofcourse..


I just used plenty of duck tape to secure it in place, that stuff isnt comeing off anytime soon!

The misses thought it would be a good idea to get an action shot of me screwing the eye shade back up lol.. genius....

Here is one of the cut i had to make to get it to mould into the corners, guess its the best i could do! It lookes really bumpy, must just be the different ways the fibres are going, its all quite flat!

The day ive been waiting for, for almost a year! in the first week of getting my car i almost bought some wolfrace 'gunmetal' alloys.. bag of crap! thank **** i didnt..

Been looking at OEM wheels ever since, with the odd look at some Compo's or speedlines.. but they were too expensive!

i always had atleast one set of 182 alloys in my watch list on ebay, and one day boom!
a set comes up for dirt cheap! offered £300 delivered and it was accepted

These bad boys came today !!!!



Soo happy! They like 2 big scuffs, and light curbing on 3, one is in new condition..
But what the heck!
if i scratch them now and they were spanking ide slit my wrists, so gonna get used to parking a mile away from the curb,
get some fresh tyres and then get them refurbed..

Im buying some 20-25mm spacers cause it looks like this at the moment!

After playing around and a few more little mods, maybe by the end of the year i might get my 40mm springs fitted! Its like a shopping trolley at the moment haha

Here we go!
Spent a few hours playing had plenty of suede offcuts left so i decided to do some matching!

removed the door card

Didnt take long at all..

This is what the back looks like..


and these are whats holding the fabric like stuff in place.. Its like melted plastic, with the fabric stuck on
So i needed to get that off to put the suede on..
Took abit of time, 2 stanley knifes and a cut finger..


got it off as clean as i could, it wasnt easy!




So i used my amazing common sence to make a template of the fabric out of cardboard



And perfecto


Here is a pic of it before it was stuck back in place, next to the old fabric


The marks on the right are just finger marks, not glue or anything like that,
ill be brushing it all one way every 5 minutes haha!

Next i decided to have a crack at my own Gear n0b Gaiter!
Removed the gaiter and removed the stitching, so once again i could use my awesome common sence to use it as a perfect template..


I chose to make one for my handbrake first just to see how it would turn out before i ruined anything badly..
so i made one a bit larger for the handbrake

and after stitching.. thanks to my mother :$

Got my door cards fitted after the glue finaly set



They look so good and im soo pleased with them! was definatley needed in my car

And so, after the success of the handbrake gaiter, i set on working on the gear gaiter
I didnt quite get to fit it to the base plate thing as i needed to shoot out to pick my girlfriend up.. tut!
But heres how it is at the moment!

Really love the look of it, much sportier than the crappy fake leather one!

Got the idea to Matt Black Wrap my front bumper, as people with white cars had theres done and it looked awesome!
So i thought since mine is all metalic, a Matt bumper will make it look sportier and will make it more unique!

Took the numberplate off and cleaned it all up




Started with the bottom first as it was smaller and gave me chance to get abit of practice!

Got straight on with the numberplate area!



and got it finished just as it went dark! so had to wait till the next day to get some decent pictures






So proud of myself, got quoted £80 for that! i did it for £5
I love it, not looked back once!

Next mod i did was painted my calipers, the dirty grey look wasnt tickling my fancy so got the wheels off and brushed awayyy








The back break drums dont look too good on photos, but in the flesh they look just right!
The fronts look great i think, on looking at the car on an angle, it matches perfectly with the Twingo133.net Orange sticker!

Bought myself some ValetPro wheel cleaner!

I got bored and with some leftover matt black wrap i decided to wrap my rear badge! as it just pulls off, and i could easily remove it if i didnt like it
Just wanted to see how it looked!

After getting really anoyed at my speakers buzzing when bassy songs came on, decided to get my hands on these bad boys!

Pioneer TS-Q131C's

Fitted the door ones myself, easy as undo two screws, unclip, re-clip, tighten two screws BOOM! Done


I couldnt fit the tweeters myself, so i took the speaker caps off to just put them in place before i got them fitted and found that i had a fake piece of plastic tweeter!

what a waste of money and effort, nothing inside it at all, just a piece of plastic!!?

Got it fitted for £20! took them 10 minutes and i was off, and wow. What a difference!
Love them, such a better sound! really puts the music in your face, instead of it tickleing your ankles comeing from the footwell..

Got abit snowy one day!


And my newest mod i completed not 1 hour ago..

Got tired of people scratching behind the door handles! when people have bags in there hand or even worse! KEYS! grr
My side has a fair few, but had enough..
Digged out the old matt black wrap!
And my dads heat gun ofcourse..


First one done! could be a tiny bet better, but was abit awkward cutting the excess off.. Looks perfectly fine when stood back though



Abit happier with the other side, Can barely see the finish!

not thought of changing the seats?

I have many times, but if i was to buy any reclining bucket seats, come to re-sell, and i dont think it will be a good selling point! although actually, i could have them re-trimmed.. ill have a gander ;D

Looking good, mate. All of the small changes make a real difference in the overall appearance.

sooo sooo tempted to buy 1 pair of 25mm spacers right now! and buy the others in a few weeks, but i cant do it!! :'(
