With a heritage of iconic cars such as the R8 Gordini, 5 GT Turbo and Clio Williams, the Renault range has always featured affordable performance cars based on mainstream production models. Twingo Renaultsport 133 is latest car to enjoy that distinction.

Twingo Renaultsport 133 offers on-the-road thrills at an affordable price. Unlike some of its competitors, 133 is easily distinguishable from the standard car with extended wheel arches and sills as standard.

Sporty looks, style and performance as standard

There is no doubting the Twingo Renaultsport 133’s vigorous performance, tenacious road holding and refinement, whilst its exterior and interior styling makes it obvious that this is a car in which to have fun.

The Twingo comes with specific Renaultsport chassis and steering tuning as standard, ensuring it offers optimum performance and handling. There is no wait necessary for the ‘Cup’ chassis either as Renault Sport Technologies has developed this for Twingo from launch, along with a new naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre VVT engine delivering 133hp at 6,750rpm with 160Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm.

Twingo Renaultsport 133 has a long list of other standard equipment that can be found from the left hand menu. From ESP with manual deactivation to the gearshift indicator light, 133 has been designed to deliver sports performance while at the same time ensuring that the car is easy to use on a day-to-day basis. A choice of five colours are available on 133: Capsicum Red or optional metallic Pearl Black, Extreme Blue, Mercury Silver or Mirage Grey. The latter is a new colour exclusive to the Renaultsport version.

'Cup' chassis

An option available on Twingo Renaultsport 133 is the ‘Cup’ chassis. It features a 4mm lower ride height, stiffer springs and dampers, 17” dark grey Anthracite alloy wheels and 195/40 tyres.

Twingo Renaultsport 133 Cup: and now for even more fun...

Twingo Renaultsport 133 Cup is the most focussed of the Twingo Renaultsport range, with the Cup chassis as standard as well as weight saving features such as the single piece rear bench seat, it truly is a car built with performance in mind.

The 17” anthracite coloured Renaultsport wheels and purposeful front fog light surrounds ensure that the car looks as good as it goes.

195/R17 40 tyres give Twingo 133 Cup an astonishing grip on the road, while the lower and harder suspension contributes to the fantastic poise of the car.

If you’re looking for a car which is high on thrills and low on frills, look no further.

Twingo Renaultsport 133: Style and performance as standard

Serious fun. The Renault Twingo Renaultsport 133 is an affordable entry into the world of Renaultsport.

The incisive, distinctive profile, wider stance and four into-one exhaust all speak of sporting character – as does the central rev counter gear change alert.

Behind the looks, there’s a punchy 133hp 1.6 litre engine to combine sports performance with everyday driveability.

A choice of five colours is available.

Everything about it is special, but for the ultimate, you can also opt for the optional Cup Chassis – perfect for track days as well as day-to-day.

Non RS models - Engine size 1.2
1.2 16V ~75bph (base model) expression, Dynamique, (special editions) i-music.
1.2 16V turbo ~100bhp Twingo GT
Twingo TCE Gordini. Basically a GT with half leather Gordini seats, blue/white interior details and all the toys of the 133 Gordini!

RS models - Engine size 1.6 16V ~133bhp
40mm wider track than the 1.2 versions, with extended arches, rear disc brakes.

RS 133 - the Full Fat version on 16" alloys, with tinted rear glass, split sliding rear seats and manual air con

RS 133 cup - Stiffer springs and dampers and 4mm lower cup chassis on 17" alloys, Bench rear seat and stripped off any non essential equipment for a performance focused drive. However the curb weight isn't much lower than a FF

RS133 with cup pack - All the toys of the RS133, with the suspension and wheels of the cup. Being as wheels are an easy swap, looking for a purple colour code patch on the rear dampers and springs is probably the best way to confirm the Cup option being fitted.

Gordini RS133 - limited run special edition with all the options ticked as standard, plus leather interior 17" style alloys with a polished face. Cup chassis optional

Silverstone 133 - Limitted run of 50 cars in silver/black cup spec with the RS monitor display and RS exhaust backbox.

If your into modifying, the 1.2 GT can get good returns for not a lot of money due to the turbo making a rechip a cost effective upgrade, but the better handling of the 1.6 with it's wider track, better geometry and stiffer suspension, coupled with a usable amount of power make a good allround package, however the lack of a turbo mean that power upgrades are limitted without a wedge of cash and work
