reading it they are screwing anyone with mods.

becasue they say drivers seat has to move to multiple places, have to have all original airbags. so u cannot have racing steering wheels because u removed steering wheel with airbag and racing seats as they they dont move.

and it really sounds like they hate HIDs.

Mike. Good to see you about again. Your colour blindness seems to be getting better... Hopefully the rest of you too ;)

Been reading a lot about this on the mx5 and drift forums. People are in uproar about it and rightly so.

I dont see how they can just introduce these changes without prior warning. These new changes should be brought to your attention with an advisory for 2012 with a warning that they will fail in 2013.

Thankfully the mx5 doesn't have airbags or pretensioners so I shouldn't have a problem with harnesses in there. Tinted lights though :( and cracking down even more on HIDs :( missing cat :( though it wouldn't take much to make a Decat look like a cat I suppose...

There is a lot more things added but im not sure if they are just rumors or not.

Sucks :(

Yeh its a right git i had hids fitted on Tuesday morning only to find out on Tuesday night they will be an mot fail from January what a waste of £100

Well its not waste, take them out, put the regular bulbs in, go to the MOT and once passed you go home and put the HID back in and your set for another year.

I need to do my first check in another 3 years so I'm set for now

Don't forget that HIDs are already hit and miss with MOTs. Legally you shouldn't have them without projector lamps, washers and self-level but most places don't bother checking that and let it pass anyway. It's just that now its 100% fail.

I went and looked at a new car Tuesday but now because of the new mot rules I'm gona have to go out and try and find a set of seats/airbags etc so everytime mot comes around I can put them all back in so it will pass!! So now prob not gona get the car due to these shit new rules!

Unless I no of a friendly mot tester
