Hello,
So I bought a twingo RS yesterday and I have a few things I need to get sorted on it before I can use it.
The car is at 64k miles, it has good service history up until 2014 then nothing for the last few years, its a 09 plate.
I need to get a Cambelt change, along with a full service and general health check. I live fairly close to a Renault garage so my dad suggested that I take it there to have the work done over a general garage.

What would any of you suggest? Should I take it to a Renault garage and have the work done or would it not matter if I just took it to my usual garage near me.

Good news on the purchase! They’d need the correct locking tools for the engine, but most garages do so should be alright.

I’d say book it in with me and my family garage as we’re Renault specialists but I didn’t enjoy doing the belt on my one haha

Congratulations on your purchase. I would only get a specialist or main dealer (specialist will be cheaper) to do the cambelt as easy to knock the timing out and get in to a whole heap of problems. Where abouts are you?

Thanks for the info guys,

I live in Lowestoft, the closest main dealer is Mitchells Renault in Lowestoft so I'm going to give them a ring to quote all that work.

What do you imagine I'll be paying for all that?

Im sure a specialist would charge £500/£600 depending on what other bits you had done at the same time. Renault main dealer will be more.

Mine was £750 from Renault dealer, wasn't much more than an Indy. You have the peace of mind of genuine parts and 1years guarantee, oh and a courtesy car which for me helped with the decision. I had the works done all belts, tensioners & dephaser done was only around £100 more than Indy but I got peace of mind knowing they have correct locking tools etc.
