How long have you been at it? I'm debating starting an engine conversion as a first project
What mods you got in mind?

Bought it at the start of the year, it’s been stop and start really , haven’t really done any solid non stop work on it and the worst bit has been waiting for parts to turn up and then realising that part won’t work! As no one has done one I couldn’t really ask what bits to use for what.

There’s loads of potential for the twingos I think, what engine you got in mind?

I’ve got some bucket seats to go in. Want the LSD gearbox, new thicker radiator, silicone radiator hoses, roll cage maybe. Then some more cosmetic based changes, which I don’t really class as mods to be honest ha!

All good experience tho by the sounds of it that's what I want
I'm overdue a new car so undecided on what route to go down, whether it be a project car for the road or to get something set up for track on the side, insurance going to be an issue so debating a 133 as a new motor as I want to see what 'Renault sport' is all about and start somewhere with a 182 for track and go the 225 engine route.
All decent mods will be interesting to see the results mate

I’ve only had a clio 1.2, my blue twingo RS and this meg swapped twingo. My brother has had 197s, 182s, 172s, 225s and a 172 swapped kangoo and I’ve been in them all and drove the kangoo. Quality cars for the price really, all have their faults though like any car. Insurance shouldn’t be too bad, go with specialists as they tend to be cheaper sometimes.

172/182 engine into a twingo should be straight forward enough really.

We share the same stater there but the Clio is on its way out, yeah I've heard the stories of renaults faults but not had many myself other than the clutch going, turned out to be a bigger job than expected n trapped the crank sensor connector when putting the gear box back in, had it running with the wires hanging on for a few days hah,
which chassis you prefer 133/182? I take it you've been in your brothers
And you've got me thinking there

Ha it’s always the way! Fix one thing and something else acts up. I’ve been in many of his cars but he’s had so many, he tends not to drive too crazy when I’m with him though. Only driven the twingo a bit more aggressive and I’m fairly impressed. May get a cheap clio at some point in the future also for company track car!

Yeah both have the cup pack on them. Been working on cars since I was about 15, started family business couple of years ago now. I’m 21 now so got some experience. Know my way around the Trafic m9r engines pretty well ha

Stick to the road quite well, mostly depends on what tyres you have on too though. Going from Mercedes to working on renault you should be fine ha! Just the age will be annoying when it comes to seized/rusty bolts etc

Sender unit came back out today.

Ran new fuel line to the bay and also ran the needed return line. Added return to the sender unit while it was out. Regulator has been mounted for the time being but may end up moving it. Only used cotton braided pipe for the moment.

When I move the regulator I’ll switch it out with stainless braided pipe most likely. Car runs fine on regulator now. So now it’s just a case of seeing when I can drop it off for mapping!

Car should be mapped sometime in January. I’ll keep this updated with any mods I do before then.

Fitted a new oil return gasket today, surprisingly more accessible than you’d think. Done some general tidying up of a few things too.
