Hi all my twingo rs has been doing this for a while but Renault insist all is ok.

I on the other hand think it's a lifter failing just sounds like a little knocking/ticking from the top end.
it's had a new dephaser puller and solerboid because they failed and that's what Renault thought the problem was.

But it's still lacking some power and the idle is still very lumpy when cold.

Any know anything this could be or how I could prove it's lifters so Renault do it because my car is still under warranty.

Thanks Josh

Was the new dephaser fitted at Renault or by someone with all the correct tools? Timing may be slightly out and that can give a loss of power feeling to the car.

Be odd to be a lifter gone, has it been serviced regularly with the correct oil?

Maybe take it to a Renault specialist near you and get their opinion.

Hi sorry for the late reply..

And yes it was done and fitted by there rs guy.

I carnt take it to any other garage becase the after market warranty I got from them can only be claimed via my Renault dealer.

I also took it to a guy called mark at midlands Renault for them to look and he agrees it's lifters

But for Renault to claim of the warranty they have to come to thst conclusion.

Maybe get a report from Mark and show it to the Renault dealer and get them to have another look in depth at the car.

Renault can be funny when it comes to certain parts under warranty and will only uphold it if servicing etc has all been carried out. Not heard of the issue before to be honest.
