Twingo Renault Sport Group R will soon see rally action in France!
Since its unveiling, Twingo Renault Sport Group R has enjoyed a tremendous reception among rally drivers. Impatiently awaited, the Twingo Renault Sport R1 and R2 kits will be available from March 15. A few weeks after that the kits will be unleashed on the French Twingo R2 Trophy, which gets underway at the Rallye Grasse Fleurs et Parfums.
Adding to a ‘Rally’ range which already features Clio Renault Sport R3 Access and Maxi, the R1 and R2 versions of Twingo Renault Sport will soon be hitting the special stages. The only constructor to offer a complete range capable of complying with FIA Group R regulations, Renault has reaffirmed its will to offer every driver a race car in keeping with his or her budget and sporting dreams.
The Twingo Renault Sport R1 and R2 kits are available from March 15, 2010 with a priority for drivers entering the French Twingo R2 Trophy. The R1 kit is offered at 9,500€ (ex VAT), while the R2 kit goes on sale at 27,990€ (ex VAT) An additional R2 dirt kit is also featured in the catalogue at 7,500€ (ex VAT)
For each R1 or R2 kit purchased, Renault Sport Technologies will offer a special deal on the price of a new Twingo Renault Sport. Thanks to the involvement of the Renault Dealer Network this solution allows drivers to buy their Twingo Renault Sport complete, registered and, where necessary, financed at a preferential price.
To accompany the launch of Twingo Renault Sport R2, Renault Sport Technologies is launching a trophy to accompany the French Clio R3 Trophy over six stages across France. The season gets under way in April on the roads of the Rallye Grasse Fleurs et Parfum. Three other stages of the French Rally Cup, Division 1 stage 5 are on the programme, including the Rallye de la Sainte-Baume, the Rallye de la Montagne Noire and the Rallye du Béthunois. Two meetings, the Rallye Région Limousin and the Rallye du Var, which hosts the final of all the European Renault Trophies, are also planned for the French Championship.
Large bonuses are available to reward drivers entering the French Twingo R2 Trophy. At the end of each round, the winner will receive 1,500€ in prize money plus a voucher for 1,000€ (ex VAT) from the Renault Sport Competition Spare Parts Department and a set of BFGoodrich tyres. The prizes, totalling nearly 10,000€ for each round will be awarded up to the eighth place.
