I've been reading through a few threads and have noticed people mentioning ecu updates from Renault. Why would I need an ecu update and what will it do?

I got mine done cos I had a flat spot around 2-3k revs, it helped out a little. Was free for me at the time aswell

Haven't noticed it much, didn't fully cure the flatspot tho just made it slightly better. Also wrapped a cable tie round the map sensor
